Charles Wayland Mettler
Charles “Todd” Wayland
age 89 from Inver Grove Heights passed away on July 23rd, 2016.
Preceded in death by parents Merrill and Louise Mettler, and sisters Jean Pribelnow, Mary Lou Wheaton and grandson Shawn Mettler.
He leaves behind the love of his life, wife of 64 years, Georgean Marie Moe Mettler; children: Todd Mettler, Marsha Mettler, Lynn Ferguson (Robert), Sue Greshowak (Kevin), Jan McKissock (Jay) and Mary Imboden (Marv), as well as eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Todd was a proud participant in the 1943 Nat’l Championship American Legion Baseball Team Post 435. He played town ball for Milroy winning State Championship in 1954. Todd enjoyed senior softball until age 83. He served in the navy during World War II. Todd was an educator and coach for Milroy, Zumbrota and So St Paul High Schools. A special thank you to the staff at Prelude Cottages of Woodbury, for their loving care. He will be buried at Fort Snelling Nat’l Cemetery in Mpls, at a family service. Memorials may be made to the Richfield AMC Legion baseball program or Richfield Lutheran Church on 60th and Nicollet Mpls, MN.
